While it will vary by offense as to what types of terms and conditions a court could sentence you to in Florida, you should expect that the types of punishment that are most generally and typically assessed to criminal defendants when they’re convicted are either incarceration, some term of probation, or both, and potentially a fine, in addition to court costs, cost of prosecution, any costs of restitution or investigation relative to your case. In addition, you could also be ordered to complete terms such as community service, substance abuse evaluations and treatment, psychological evaluations and treatment, or to have no contact with certain individuals and not return to other places. You should speak with a lawyer to determine what, if anything, you may be exposed to by virtue of being charged with, or convicted of a crime.
